# Andrea Tosato — Professor of Law > Andrea Tosato is the Homer R. Mitchell Endowed Professor in Commercial and Insurance Law at SMU Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas. His research examines how private law, commercial law, and bankruptcy law govern modern intangible assets, including digital assets, stablecoins, and verified carbon credits. He was a key contributor to UCC Article 12, the first comprehensive American legal framework for commercial transactions in digital assets. He is an elected member of the American Law Institute and serves as Associate Research Director of the Permanent Editorial Board for the Uniform Commercial Code.
